Mensaje:
I´m getting married this year to a Spanish national but despite seeing the links above, going to the church with my documents (they don´t seem to really know what documents I need),various phone calls to the British Embassy and Jurídica para Extranjeria, I´m finding the whole process regarding paperwork v. confusing. One person says one thing, another person says another. Is it necessary to get the Hague Apostille on your Birth Cert? The church are also saying I need an official church stamp on my Baptism Certificate(I don´t even know if the church has an official stamp, just coz everything here has an official stamp, doesn´t mean we do in Britain) Is anyone the wiser and if there is no official church stamp, how do I get around this little glitch?

I´d also appreciate hearing your experiences about getting married in Spain, marrying a Spanish local and know how you dealt with language problems/barriers (none of my family speak Spanish and they aren´t Catholic either and aren´t going to understand the service, plus would love to hear/say my vows in English), how you did the service (I´d like to have an English hymn). Other little probs, are the cake(I´d like a traditional PRETTY British wedding cake)and where can you find nice dresses for the arras?(I´ve seen a couple of ok dresses but nothing seems as gorgeous as a dress I´ve seen on the Internet from England)There doesn´t appear to be much choice either (I live in a little town) and the styles are completely different to British bridesmaids/flower girl dresses, they are much more classic and in my opinion the majority aren´t as pretty!! Don´t even get me started on the clothes for page boys!!! Don´t like those knickerbocker type things!Luckily, we´re not going to be having any!!

Would be really grateful for any info that you could share!

By what you say, it sounds to me that you want a British wedding. Why don't you get married in Britain?
